Flu isn’t just a heavy cold
Flu occurs every year, usually in the winter, which is why it’s sometimes called seasonal flu. It’s a highly infectious disease with symptoms that come on very quickly. Colds are much less serious and usually start gradually with a stuffy or runny nose and a sore throat. A bad bout of flu can be much worse than a heavy cold.

The Government has announced that the public no longer have to mandatory wear face coverings. It has been suggested though that the public continue to wear face coverings in "enclosed or crowded spaces" as a recommendation as it is an effective way of preventing the spread of Covid-19.

If you have one of the following or more then you are entitled to a Flu vaccination:- Diabetic, Heart Disease, COPD, Immunosuppressed, Stroke, Pregnant, Asthmatic on steroidal inhalers, Sickle Cell, Over 65 years of age, Liver Disease, Neurological Disease, Carer.
Please book your appointment now whilst we have stock of the vaccine at the surgery

The GP's at the surgery are providing Telephone Triage and Video Consultations. The GP's will make the decision if they wish to see a patient Face to Face.

As the Government are now relaxing Lockdown and the public are able to access more amenities, Woodend Health Centre would ask that all patients that need to attend the surgery to please wear some form of face covering.
